Project Description
Client: Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
What do you think of when you think of Flies? Right. Well, that’s what most visitors thought too. Working with scientists at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), I designed an experience that transformed people’s thinking on these fascinating insects.
“You did an amazing job turning my endless rumblings about flies into a concise and fun activity for Q?rius. And the head models are obviously beyond amazing!” – Curator of Flies, NMNH
I managed the project from concept through fabrication. This involved running multiple brainstorming sessions, managing collections objects, prototyping and testing iterations with visitors. I also fabricated the fly models and completed the graphic design work. The final product was a suite of tools that can be used by volunteers to engage visitors in many different ways.
