Client: University of New England
The university was developing a new curriculum (not an easy task!). The curriculum committee had workshops planned with all faculty and staff, and asked for my help in figuring out how to leverage design thinking to encourage creative thinking and idea generation. Many people had longstanding views on what the curriculum should look like and we needed to inspire new thinking.
Together we designed manipulatives that represented curriculum building blocks, and offered de-identified models of curriculum models at other leading universities. We used design thinking brainstorming rules and tightly-timed activities, and it was a big success!
“Thank you so much for helping us to develop an innovative approach to working with faculty and staff to generate ideas…Your facilitation allowed us to envision how we would lead the Sparking Sessions with ease. Your encouragement throughout the process also helped us to move positively and confidently forward with the sessions. You were invaluable in making this idea a reality.
We are very excited to report that 52 proposals for curriculum design were generated in fun, interactive sessions.Your leadership in innovative thinking is truly beneficial to the UNE community at large!“
